TumblingTIPS Index

Hey, Coach,
I have been a gymnast for five years and a cheerleader for one year. I compete in both, but my back-tucks don't get very high off the ground. I do a few exercises to strengthen them, but they are still low. Is there any exercise that helps you?

Leg-presses (in a weight room)
Straight jumps
gymnastic jumps
bicycling AGGRESSIVELY
running FAST upstairs
and plyometric springs will ALL build up your 'jumping' muscles.
With stronger jumping muscles you'll be able to spring higher into the air and ensure safer backflips
